COACHING FOR INDIAN AIR FORCE X & Y GROUPS

Young men can join as Airmen in either the Technical and Non-Technical trades of the Air force. The Airman cadre provides opportunities for men (only men) with 10+2 /Intermediate, graduates, Diploma holders and postgraduates in either of the two combatant groups i.e 'X', 'Y' of the technical and the non-technical trades. Candidates short listed after the initial selection procedure, are allotted a suitable trade and go through a rigorous training regimen at one of the training institutes. Thereafter, they are inducted and posted as Airmen at any of the Air Force Stations. 

Each trade offers opportunities to grow and enhance your skills. Depending on your inclination and talent/suitability you can move from one trade to the other and grow in ranking. One can even get commissioned as an Officer in the Air Force. 

As an airman under the Technical Trades, the work involves the maintenance and testing of aircraft and flying related equipment.  One will also be directly or indirectly involved in the maintenance and overhaul of ground equipment and armament. As an airman in the Non-Technical trades, the work involves assistance and support to the various functions from weather forecasting to maintenance of records and files of the Indian Air Force and all its branches.

Eligibility & Examination Detail

Group ‘X’ Except Education Instructor

Note: The upper age limit on date of enrolment is 21 years.

Age: 17- 21 Years 
Education Qualification: Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / equivalent examination with MathematicsPhysics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

OR

Past 3 years Diploma Course in Engineering in any stream, as shown below, from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in aggregate, and 50% marks in English in Diploma or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course.

GROUP ‘X’: Education Instructor Trade

Age: 20 - 25 Years 
 

Education Qualification

(i) BA with English as one the subjects or B.Sc with Physics/ Psychology/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ IT / Computer Science/ Statistics as one of the subjects or BCA with minimum 50% marks.
(ii) B.Ed degree with minimum of 50% marks from a Government recognized institute.
(iii) Graduation and B.Ed programmes should be recognized by UGC/ NCTE/ Competent accreditation authority.

Age: 20 - 28 Years 
 

Education Qualification: 
(i) MA in English/ Psychology or M.Sc in Mathematics/ Physics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ IT or MCA with 50% marks.
(ii) B.Ed degree with minimum of 50% marks from a government recognized institute.
(iii) Graduation, Post-Graduation and B.Ed programmes should be recognized by UGC/ NCTE/ Competent accreditation authority.

Group ‘Y’ Except Medical Asst& Musician

Note: The upper age limit on date of enrolment is 21 years.

Age: 17- 21 Years 
 

Should have passed Class 10 + 2/Intermediate/Equivalent exam from an education board / Institute listed in Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) website as members, in any stream/subjects with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English as per the mark sheet of Class 10 + 2 / Intermediate /Equivalent exam.

GROUP ‘Y: Med Asst Trade

Note: The upper age limit on date of enrolment is 21 years.

Age: 17- 21 Years 
 

Education Qualification: 
Passed 10+2 / Intermediate / equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate, and 50% marks in English.

GROUP ‘Y’: Musician Trade

Age: 17 - 25 Years 
 

Education Qualification:

Passed Matriculation /10th class or equivalent with minimum pass marks from any Government recognised School/Boards and should be proficient in playing at least one of the following musical instruments: Trumpet / Bass / Violin / Saxophone / Clarinet / Euphonium / Jazz-Drum / Piccolo / Bass Trombone / Key Board / Guitar / Sarod / Viola / Cello / Contra Bass (String Bass).

Online Written Test on 10th or 11th March 2017’   Syllabus will be of 10+2 CBSE Standard.   Candidates are to qualify in each paper separately in their respective groups.   The result of phase-I will be uploaded on www.airmenselection.cdac.in within 15 days from the date of online exams.   10th class mark sheet and pass certificate.   12th class mark sheet and pass certificate’   Aadhaar Card.   NCC Certificate (If held).   Photograph-The photograph should be of good quality with light background with name and date of photo written in capital 1.6 Km run in 6 minutes 30 seconds   20 squat ups (UthakBaithak)   10 sit ups   10 Push-ups   Adaptability Test-1 Situation Reaction test.   45 objective type SRTs in 30 minutes. SRTs will be bilingual.   Adaptability Test-2 Group Discussion (GD)     Height: Minimum 152.5 cms. Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm Weight: Proportionate to height and age. However, minimum weight of 55 Kg required. Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) is not acceptable. Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6

RULES & REGULATIONS

  1. Fee will be paid maximum in two instalments. Atleast 70% fee to be paid at the time of admission and balance 30% within 1 to 2 months from start of the course.
  2. Fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted under any circumstance.
  3. Filling in of exam application forms and their submission to the exam conducting authority will be the responsibility of student himself.
  4. Student will be responsible for his physical, medical and educational eligibility for a particular course before taking admission. No fee in full or part will be refunded once the student has taken admission in the academy.
  5. Change in address and contact No if any to be notified to the office immediately on occurrence.
  6. Student enrolled with DDA will provide his entrance examination roll number to office immediately on receipt of his admit card from the exam conducting authority.
  7. DDA reserves its right to make any alteration in its program/fees without any prior notice to anybody.
  8. Students will follow all rules, regulations and instructions of the institute and will stay within its discipline parameters.
  9. Student found involved in any indiscipline or misconduct will be expelled from the academy without any notice or refund of fee.
  10. DDA guides, coaches and trains the students for defence forces’ entries but does not promise or guarantee the jobs.
